As the Minister of State for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), I am proud to submit the 2012–13 Departmental Performance Report for the Agency.

Since its creation in 2009, FedDev Ontario has supported the southern Ontario economy by building on the region's strengths and creating opportunities for jobs and economic growth. In the past year, the Agency has shown a continued commitment to building a highly competitive, diversified southern Ontario economy, as evidenced through the delivery of the Southern Ontario Advantage initiatives and the Community Improvement Infrastructure Fund. There was an overwhelming response to these programs, and as of the 2012–13 fiscal year, funding is now fully committed.

The Agency remains dedicated to playing an integral role in the economic growth of the region, and furthermore the country, through the following actions:

In Budget 2013, the Government of Canada demonstrated its ongoing support for workers, families and communities in southern Ontario with the renewal of FedDev Ontario. Moving forward, the next phase of our long-term economic plan is focused on keeping our commitment to Canadians to create jobs, growth and long-term prosperity.

The Honourable Gary Goodyear
Minister of State (Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario)
