The following initiatives are currently open for application. Please follow the links below for detailed eligibility and application requirements.

Economic Development Initiative: Supports business and economic development activities that encourage sustainable growth in southern Ontario's Francophone communities with community strategic planning, as well as business and economic development activities.

Eastern Ontario Development Program: Promotes socio-economic development in Eastern Ontario by creating, building and developing the necessary conditions to increase business and employment opportunities in the region.

Graduate Enterprise Internship: Supports not-for-profit organizations and post-secondary institutions to arrange internships for graduate students and recent graduates of programs in science, technology, engineering and mathematics with small- and medium-sized companies in southern Ontario.

Investing in Business Innovation: Boosts private sector investment in start-up businesses to accelerate the development of new products, processes and practices and bring them to market. Funding is also available for angel investor networks and their associations to attract new investment and support the growth of angel investment funds.

Prosperity Initiative: Supports businesses, not-for-profit organizations and post-secondary institutions in undertaking projects to enhance productivity, diversify the regional economy, and build a competitive advantage for southern Ontario.

Scientists and Engineers in Business: Helps recent graduates and graduate students in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields by improving access to financing and/or providing business support services to successfully launch and manage start-up businesses in southern Ontario.

Technology Development Program: Supports research and innovation organizations, the private sector, post-secondary institutions and not-for-profit organizations to work together to accelerate the development of large-scale, advanced technologies that will result in new market opportunities for southern Ontario businesses.

Youth STEM: Supports not-for-profit organizations to expand, enhance and coordinate the reach and impact of educational outreach programs in science, technology, engineering and mathematics for children and youth in kindergarten through grade 12.

All funding for the following programs has been committed and FedDev Ontario is monitoring the progress of the approved projects.

Applied Research and Commercialization Initiative: Aimed at addressing the gap between research and commercialization in southern Ontario and encouraging collaboration between small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and post-secondary institutions.

Building Canada Fund-Communities Component: Delivered jointly with the Government of Ontario to provide long-term, stable and predictable funding to help meet infrastructure needs across Ontario in communities with populations of less than 100,000.

Canada-Ontario Infrastructure Program: Delivered jointly with the Government of Ontario to invest in urban and rural municipal infrastructure in Ontario, with a focus on "green" municipal infrastructure, such as solid waste management and energy efficient building.

Canada-Ontario Municipal Rural Infrastructure Fund: Delivered by the governments of Canada and Ontario, the Association of Municipalities of Ontario, and Ontario municipalities to improve and renew small urban and rural public infrastructure across the province.

Canada Strategic Infrastructure Fund: Supports large-scale projects of major federal and regional significance in areas that are vital to sustaining economic growth and enhancing the quality of life of Canadians.

Community Adjustment Fund: Aimed at quickly minimizing the impacts of the global economic downturn by creating employment opportunities, and assisting communities with populations of less than 250,000 to adjust and restructure their economies.

Community Futures Program: A national program supporting Community Futures Development Corporations (CFDCs) across Canada, with FedDev Ontario serving 37 in rural Eastern and Southern Ontario. CFDCs offer a wide variety of programs and services supporting community economic development and small business growth.

Municipal Rural Infrastructure Fund Top-Up: One-time investment to help support community water-related projects.

Ontario Potable Water Program: One-time investment for municipalities that experienced increased costs for their Canada-Ontario Infrastructure Program water projects to comply with changes to Ontario drinking water regulations.

Recreational Infrastructure Canada Program in Ontario: Delivered jointly with the Government of Ontario to support the upgrading and renewal of recreational facilities in communities across Ontario.

Southern Ontario Development Program: Aimed at stimulating local economies and enhancing the growth and competitiveness of local businesses and communities.
