Applied Research and Commercialization Initiative

FedDev Ontario's Applied Research and Commercialization Initiative is a pilot initiative aimed at addressing the gap between research and commercialization in southern Ontario and encouraging collaboration between small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and post-secondary institutions. This initiative is part of Canada's Economic Action Plan.

The purpose of this initiative is to encourage greater collaboration and partnerships between post-secondary institutions with applied research development expertise and SMEs with pre-commercialization needs. Its goals are to accelerate innovation and to improve productivity and competitiveness in SMEs located in southern Ontario.

The Initiative will provide up to $15 million in funding to eligible post-secondary institutions in southern Ontario.
