Sault Ste Marie Community Theatre CentreThe Sault Ste Marie Community Theatre Centre was approved for up to $374,891 in Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund support to rehabilitate its theatre.

The performing arts centre is adjacent to White Pines Collegiate and Vocational School, and renovations enhance both the school’s Specialist High Skills Major Arts and Culture program and the auditorium’s use within the school system and the community.

The theatre project included replacing auditorium seating, upgrading duct work and HVAC systems, remodelling the proscenium arch, installing new signage, and upgrading the lobby area so that it can be used by the school during the day and the theatre in the evening.

With the completion of the $749,783 project, community theatre groups and commercial promoters benefit from the theatre’s expanded capability to present performing arts productions.
