With a Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund investment of up to $43,785, the Sudbury Theatre Centre has increased the overall accessibility of its auditorium. It has also revitalized an organization and venue that has been in existence since 1971.
The total eligible project costs were $87,570 and included replacing auditorium seating to allow for increased accessibility, repairing the concrete floor and installing a new carpet in the auditorium. The seating was over 30 years old and had been known to squeak during performances. The new seats feature cup holders and a sponsorship opportunity for dedicated theatre-goers who wish to leave their mark with personalized plates.
